How To: Tie Your Anna Campbell

Anna Campbell's dresses are beautifully intricate and feminine whilst remaining quite simple in sillhouette, making them some of our most popular dresses. One of the biggest questions we receive on a day to day basis is how to tie them like we do in store, and how do you get them to remain perfectly tied for the duration of the special occasion?
The thing to to remember about tying Anna Campbell gowns is that there are three simple tricks to ensuring a perfect tie every time- keeping the sash flat, firm and on top of the elastic waistband. These steps (along with a few other helpful tips) are elaborated upon below in greater detail, to ensure you master the art of tying an Anna Campbell. And remember, practise makes perfect!
Keeping the sash flat
The importance of keeping the sash flat stems from the need to create a really defined waist- one of the most beautiful things about Campbell's designs. The flatter the sash sits on the body, the smaller and tighter the waist appears. Possibly the best way to get the sash sitting super flat is to grab it by the top edge closest to the bust and pull tight, ensuring the sash is pulled flat as you go around the waist.
Keeping the sash firm
This step and the previous step- keeping the sash flat- pretty well go hand in hand. Keeping the sash as firm as possible is crucial in ensuring that the dress requires minimal fiddling throughout the day and stays as tight and neat as it was when first tied. Another benefit of ensuring you wrap the sash around the waist as tightly as is comfortable is the enhancement it provides the female form. When tied correctly, the Anna Campbell gowns give a beautiful and ultra-feminine hourglass shape. Who doesn't want that?
Ensure the sash covers the elastic band
Making sure that the elastic is covered is purely for visual effect and, whilst has very little impact on the structural elements of the dress, is very important in maintaining the overall look of any Anna Campbell piece. Covering the elastic gives the illusion that the dress is simply made for the wearer, and any fashionista worth her credit card will tell you that this is possibly the decisive factor in pulling off an important look.
Final notes
Now that you have the basic AC commandments down pat, here's a few bonus tidbits to ensure that you look your absolute best for the occasion. Finishing off yourtied waist with a little bow is one of the sweetest way to finish off the look. To create the cutest bow possible, make tiny loops (loosely around your thumbs is usually a good place to start). Tie them as you would a usual bow, then delicately fluff out the loops. And there you have it... perfect bow!
Also double check that any front embellishments, lace or bows are untucked from the waist and you are good to go!
